Lyle's

Lyle's

One of our favourite Supper-Clubbers-cum-restaurateur-extraordinaire, James Lowe of Young Turks (Upstairs at the Ten Bells and Clove Club) brings with him a stellar group of friends; John Ogier (St John), Jyo Karam and Sunaina Sethi (Gymkhana, Bubbledogs, Trishna) to open a new restaurant in a former gallery space in Shoreditch, Lyle's.

The restaurant, which takes its name from James' grandmother offers a list of 12 dishes at lunch and a set menu at dinner that changes daily. All produce is sourced from Jamesโ€™ network of farmers and suppliers he has developed over the last eight years. The menu is British, pared-back, unpretentious and driven by a common sense kind of mentality, featuring dishes such as: Jersey Royals, Seaweed and Duck Egg; Aged Dover Sole, Monk's Beard and Anchovy; Ox Liver, Damson and Pickled Elderberry.

There is also a daily offering of items made in-house including bread, charcuterie, butter, preserves and pickles. A rotating house coffee is supplied by people including Koppi from Sweden and Londonโ€™s Square Mile, all available for take-out alongside baked goods in the morning. The wine list offer a small selection with low mark ups regularly adapting to the menus and seasons.
